YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

01 X officer and 06 x cadets represented the National Cadet Corps at the Bangladesh Republic Day Celebrations held in Dhaka recently while 02 x officers and 12 x cadets visited India on 14 January 2012 to participate in the Republic Day Celebration Camp - 2012 scheduled to be held next week. This cross section of cadets was selected out of approximately 50,000 cadets those who undergo training at the four corners of the country. Cadets were selected through a written as well as a viva test. However Major General GBW Jayasundara RWP RSP - Director National Cadet Corps took initiative to select cadets from remote areas too, on the instructions of secretary - Ministry of Defence and Urban Development for the aforesaid tour. Mrs. Priyanthi Jayasundara - President of NCC Seva Vanitha Branch provided financial support from Seva Vanitha Branch to the needy cadets.
