National Cadet Corps conducted its Junior Cadet Championship Trophy Camp recently and its passing out parade was held at the NCC Training Centre, Rantembe under the patronage of Brigadier DGBK Rathnapala USP, Deputy Director NCC.
Junior Cadetting was resumed after 35 years by the NCC and there is a considerable demand from Schools Island wide to start Junior Cadet Platoons. Students between 12-14 years are enlisted as Junior Cadets while students at the age of 14-20 are eligible for Senior Cadetting.
This All island level Assessment Camp for girls and boys was conducted simultaneously at camp A, and camp B located at the Training Centre. At Girls competitions Gnanodaya Central College, Wariyapola became the Champions while Kebithigollewa Central College secured runners-up position. Defence College, Colombo 02 won the third place of this competition. At Boys competitions Ananda College, Colombo became the Champions while, St. Sylvester College, Kandy secured runners-up position and Poramadulla Central College, Rikillagaskada won the third place of this competition.

A massive crowd inclusive of Senior Officers of the Corps, Parents, Principals of respective schools and old cadets witnessed the parade.
