Girls' Assessment Camp - Phase I

Phase I of the Girls’ Assessment Camp was conducted at the NCC Training Centre, Rantembe recently. Whilst the NCC is making a tremendous effort to mould young energetic school boys as well disciplined motivated youth, the organization extends similar contribution to upgrade leadership qualities of lady cadets in both government and semi-government schools in the country.

Presently, 500 girl platoons undergo training under Army, Navy, Air Force and Police Wings of the Corps; Training is being supervised by 21 Battalion Headquarters spread right round the country. 53 platoons selected for Phase I took part in the Assessment Camp.

Being the Chief Guest Major General GBW Jayasundara RWP RSP Director National Cadet Corps took the salute of the Passing Out Parade held at the end of the Camp, and he gave away the trophies to the Champion Thakshila MMV, Horana – 12 Battalion and runners-up St. Joseph’s MV, Bandarawela – 06 Battalion at the final competition. The Commandant, Senior Officers of the Corps, Principals, Teachers and a large number of parents attended the ceremony.
