“JAYA SRI NIWADU NIKETHANAYA" (HOLIDAY BUNGALOW)
NCC CEREMONIALLY OPENED
“Jaya Sri Niwadu Nikethanaya” the newly constructed Holiday Bungalow at No. 68, Bandaranaike Mawatha, Kalubowila, Dehiwala by the Seva Vanitha Branch of the National Cadet Corps was ceremonially opened by Madam Shiranthi Wickramasinghe Rajapaksa on a special auspicious time at 9.20 a.m. on 03rd October 2011.
This luxurious construction for the use of officers of the NCC as well as the visiting officers of the SAARC Countries was a dream of Major General GBW Jayasundara RWP RSP, the Director of the National Cadet Corps and Mrs. Priyanthi Jayasundara the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the National Cadet Corps made that dream a reality with the immense cooperation of the officers of the Corps. To accomplish this gigantic task the Seva Vanitha Branch has spent approximately 6 Million Rupees.
The Seva Vanitha Branch of the NCC has become a pillar of strength in uplifting welfare facilities of officers, cadets and whole NCC community. In this context Mrs. Priyanthi Jayasundara has been rendering a tremendous contribution through the Seva Vanitha activities. Being the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch of NCC she has introduced a scheme of scholarships for needy cadets and the University entrants who are members of the Corps. In addition, all the parents who attend the Battalion Assessment Camp Parades as visitors are also provided with refreshments and lunch by the Seva Vanitha Branch of the National Cadet Corps.
Mrs. H.K. Balasuriya the Additional Secretary (Development) of the Ministry of Defence, Major General GBW Jayasundara RWP RSP the Director of the National Cadet Corps, Mrs. Priyanthi Jayasundara the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch – NCC, the Senior Officers of the National Cadet Corps, the Girls and Boys Cadets and their parents also participated in this colourful occasion.
