Inaugural Province Junior Cadet Training Camp in Western Province

National Cadet Corps conducted the Inaugural Province Junior Cadet Training Camp in Western Province with the participation of 452 Junior Cadets from 12th to 15th December 2017 at the Siyane National College of Education in Pattalagedara, Veyangoda. This programme was conducted under a concept of State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene.

Students, both boys and girls between 12-14 years of age in government, semi-government and private school are trained as Junior Cadets. Their training module includes physical training, map reading, first aids, foot drills, tactics, building of values and ethics and etc. They will also be provided with training on leadership qualities, self-confidence and team work.

The Passing Out Parade was held on last Friday (15th December 2017) with the Patronage of State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene MP. During the ceremony The State minister presented certificates to the cadets and also sets of computers and chairs to the Provincial HQ, 03rd, 07th, 12th, 19th and 26th battalions.  The secretary to the State Ministry of Defence, senior officials of Ministry of Defence, Deputy Director NCC, Senior officers of NCC, Staff officers of HQ NCC and large gathering witnessed this event.
