RANTAMBE — July 29, 2026: Following an extensive assessment process, the National Cadet Corps Boys Battalion Assessment Camp Detail-VI successfully concluded with a proud passing-out parade at the Rantambe Training School on July 29.
The final passing-out parade comprised Boy Cadet Contingents representing the 1st, 6th, and 18th Battalions. The parade was commanded by Lieutenant Colonel P.D.P.A.K. Withanage, while Major G.C. Meegasthenna served as the Second-in-Command. Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) Warrant Officer I R.S.T. Kumara (01 NCC) and Warrant Officer I R.M.M.M. Rathnayake (18 NCC) carried out their respective duties. The parade was further enhanced by the rhythmic performances of the Western Band of Dharmapala Maha Vidyalaya, Bandarawela.
According to the results of the assessment, Dharmashoka College, Ambalangoda, secured the Championship of the 01st Battalion with an impressive score of 1267.47 marks, while Richmond College, Galle, became the Runner-up with 1231.14 marks.
Dharmapala Maha Vidyalaya, Bandarawela, emerged as the Champion of the 06th Battalion by securing 1445.13 marks, while Welimada Central College secured the Runner-up position with a total of 1119.32 marks.
Meanwhile, the Championship of the 18th Battalion was secured by Jinraja Boys' College, Gampola, with a score of 1203.81 marks, while Royal College, Kurunduwatta, secured the Runner-up position by obtaining 1084.99 marks.
Demonstrating discipline, leadership, and personality, the proud passing-out parade held at the Rantambe Training School was graced by Major General Anuruddha Arambepola RWP ndc, the Deputy General Officer Commanding of 11 Infantry Division, as the Chief Guest.
